27th Annual Underwater Music Festival

July 9, 2011

The Underwater Music Festival is a one of a kind event that draws attention from snorkelers and divers in Big Pine and the lower keys. It is scheduled from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 9, 2011. The entire concert takes place at Looe Key Reef, which is actually about six miles from Big Pine Key. Music is played underwater for divers and snorkelers to enjoy while viewing some spectacular reefs. Although the Underwater Music Festival is great fun, it also spreads an important message about preserving our reefs. According to the website, "The broadcast incorporates diver awareness announcements emphasizing ways to enjoy the reef while minimizing impacts on the underwater environment."

What a wonderful way to celebrate a great cause, and party under the sea!
